Mobile phone limitations when playing ringtones
When you create a monophonic ringtone that is to be played on various
makes of phones you need to be aware of the constraints of each phone.
To sumarise: Keep the notes between C4 and B7 (440Hz and 3.52kHz). Remember
that Motorola phones can't play notes shorter than a quaver 1/8. Ericsson
phones are a challenge because you can't control the beats per minute -
its about 180 bpm. This is all pretty primitive stuff and you need to use
an MMS polyphonic phone to play "real" music. The following table
provides some guidance. And lastly remember that Nokia dominates the market.
