API Application Programmer Interface. A clearly defined interface by which an application program accesses our services.
CDR Call Data Records. Every SMS message passing through our system is recorded together with information about who sent the message and whether or not it was delivered etc. These records are called Call Data Records.
HLR Home Location Register. When a mobile phone "roams" from one Network Operator to another there has to be one place that knows where in the world your phone currently is. This database is maintained by your original Network Operator and is called the Home Location Register. The HLR is also used when a number is ported from one Network Operator to another. We normally use suppliers who check the relevant HLR to ensure that messages are delivered via the correct MNO but we also have direct access to several MNO's HLRs.
MNO Mobile Network Operator. An MNO like Cingular, Orange and Vodafone provide mobile phone services to their customers. We are not an MNO. We connect to many MNOs around the world and use their services to deliver SMS and MMS content - potentially to well over a billion handsets.
MO Mobile Originated. An SMS or MMS message that was originated on a Mobile phone
MT Mobile Terminated. An SMS or MMS message that was terminated (sent to) a mobile phone. The message may have originated from another mobile phone or from a web page, PC or other fixed device.
OSE Operator SMS Exchange. A Connection Software service that enables Mobile Network operators to establish full two-way SMS service with networks that they do not have interworking agreements with.
